Emily Link sits down with me to talk about the 2014 Big Show at Lawndale Art Center, which opens on Friday, July 11th at 6:30pm. Have you ever wondered about the inner workings of the area’s largest open-call juried exhibition? Wonder no more! We also talk about Emily’s own art practice, including her use of an evolving narrative throughout her recent installations. We also reminisce about a memorable work of digital art she made while in my computer imaging class many years ago.

It’s an art-astic inaugural episode of the Spill Some Stuff podcast! Be sure to check out the links and images below:

Here’s a modern recreation of the grisly scene Emily once depicted in Photoshop way back when. (Sadly, the digital file cannot be found.)

Brian you have a great radio voice!
Thanks Dennis! I’m not sure I agree yet, but I appreciate you saying that. Maybe it will grow on me…
Very enjoyable and enlightening interview. You both did a great job. I am the proud mother of the “Bear Fearing” artist. I look forward to your next podcast.
Thank you Cheryl for commenting and for the kind words on the episode. It was great fun talking with your daughter. She’s pretty great (as you probably know.)
Is there a way to subscribe to a feed (i.e. via Stitcher or Apple)?
Hi Donovan — I’m working on getting the podcast into both iTunes and Stitcher. I’ll let you know once The Powers That Be approve of my requests. Will also add a “Subscribe” link to the navigation at top right. Thanks!
Very interesting interview, nice job. Learned a lot about my niece and Lawndale!!
