Podcast alumni Sara Cress and Elaine Bradford worked on a year-long collaboration in which they paired new sculptures and poems for each week during 2017. The resulting work, collectively named Routine Fables, goes on to document a turbulent 2017, both for the nation and – during Hurricane Harvey – for the artists themselves.

The sculptures and poems can be viewed at RoutineFables.com, and they are also on display in Houston through the month of July at Lawndale Art Center. The show runs through July 29th, and there’s a poetry reading and conversation with the artists on Sunday, July 15th at 2pm. I strongly encourage all listeners in the Houston area to go see the show in person.
